The
new Vanguard Jazz Orchestra CD was recorded on February 10 and
11 of 2008 at the Village Vanguard in New York City as part of a
week long celebration of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis legacy.
Dedicated to Dennis Irwin, the double CD features classic Thad,
lost charts, unrecorded McNeely and Dodgion as well as two
stunning arrangements by Bob Brookmeyer.
